Drawing from the figure is a time old tradition, developing observational skills, experimenting, trying new mediums and finding different ways of depicting the figure. The classes are guided by a tutor and are ideal for those wanting to learn something new, artists wanting to sharpen their skills or for students building a portfolio. The studio has a good range of charcoal and pencils to borrow and a small charge is made for paper.
PLEASE NOTE: No photographs in the life drawing class. We would advise that these sessions are suitable for those of 16 years of age and upwards. We accept students that are finishing their G.C.S.E for portfolios.
The two hour class starts with a series of short poses for the first hour with a short break, finishing with a 40 min pose. Conquest House studio is well equipped with easels, tables, boards, sketching stools, which are provided for your use on any courses you may book. Paper and collage materials available at a small charge of £1 per sheet. However, if you would require a set of brushes or any specialist materials (e.g. oil, acrylic and watercolour paints) that you would prefer to use, please bring them with you. It may also be useful to bring a plastic folder or portfolio to transport your work home.
What's Included: Smocks/aprons are provided for working in but we do also recommend wearing old clothes!
