Working from direct observation with a clothed model, you will use a medium of your choice to explore the essence of portraiture.
Although a group class Kathryn tutors on a one to one with each student to cater for different skill levels. The tutor sometimes works on her own piece during the sessions so students can observe the process of development.
Places are limited to 8 to enable everyone to have full access to the model's face, so make sure you reserve your place!
What to bring: Conquest House studio is well equipped with easels, tables, boards, sketching stools, paper and collage materials which are provided for your use on any courses you may book. However, you would require a set of brushes or any paint materials (e.g. oil, acrylic and watercolour paints) that you would prefer to use, please bring them with you. It may also be useful to bring a plastic folder or portfolio to transport your work home. If your course involves working outside we would recommend you bring warm waterproof clothing and sturdy walking shoes/boots.
Smocks/aprons are provided for working in but we do also recommend wearing old clothes.
Transportation for any field trips is provided where appropriate.
